Editor review

Binary Board is a logic puzzle where you fill a grid with 0s and 1s subject to two constraints: each row and column must contain equal numbers of 0s and 1s, and no three consecutive cells (horizontal or vertical) can have the same value. The format is the Binairo puzzle from newspaper logic-puzzle sections.

What works is the constraint clarity. Both rules are easy to internalise. The deduction loop is similar to Sudoku but with a simpler symbol set, which makes the format approachable for players who find Sudoku intimidating. The early levels are solvable through direct rule application; the harder levels require chains of inference.

Eighty puzzles across four difficulty tiers. The first tier is single-step deduction. The second tier requires two or three steps of inference, and the third tier asks for longer chains. The fourth tier requires hypothesis-and-contradiction reasoning. The progression is sound for a logic-puzzle format.

Tested over four return commutes. Touch with tap to cycle the cell value works fine. Mouse-click cycles the same way. Keyboard input (0, 1, or delete) is the fastest. All inputs work; the format does not depend on dexterity.

Where the game falls short of higher rating is the absence of variety. Every puzzle uses the same rules and the same square-grid format. After thirty puzzles I had seen every deduction pattern. The format itself is interesting but the implementation does not vary it enough to sustain interest past the first tier.

Where I would push back is the absence of a generator mode. Binairo puzzles can be generated procedurally with verified-unique solutions, and including a procedural-puzzle generator would solve the variety problem above. The fixed-puzzle catalogue is not large enough to justify a return visit beyond a single playthrough.

Three stars. Functional Binairo implementation that does not stretch the format. Worth a few sessions but not a long-term puzzle commitment.
