Editor review

Mirror Room is a light-reflection puzzle where you place mirrors in a grid to redirect a laser beam from emitter to target. The format borrows from Laser Maze (board game) and dozens of free Flash implementations.

What works is the mirror placement model. Each mirror is 45-degree-oriented; you rotate by clicking. The laser path renders in real time as you place and rotate mirrors, so you see consequences immediately. This is the right kind of immediate feedback for a puzzle of this complexity.

Eighty levels across three difficulty tiers. The first tier teaches basic mirror placement. The second tier introduces splitter prisms that divide the laser into two beams, and the third tier adds destructible barriers that need specific damage thresholds to break. The progression is logical but the third tier introduces enough mechanical complexity that some levels feel more like trial-and-error than deduction.

Tested over four return commutes on the Mumbai locals plus a few weekend sessions. Touch with tap-to-rotate works fine. Mouse-click rotation is faster on desktop. Both inputs are comfortable for the format. No gamepad support.

Where the design starts to thin is the late-tier puzzle quality. The first sixty levels feel well-crafted. The last twenty feel like the developer was filling out a number rather than designing fresh challenges. Several late levels share solution patterns that, once recognised, trivialise multiple levels at once.

Where I would push back is the lack of a step-by-step replay function for solved puzzles. After solving a complex puzzle it would be satisfying to watch the solution play out from scratch. This is a feature that costs little to add and would help cement learning.

Three-and-a-half stars. Solid light-reflection puzzle with strong early-tier design and a tired final tier. Worth playing for the first sixty levels; the last twenty are skippable.
