Editor review

Drift Line is a drift-focused arcade racer. Standard cornering is replaced with drift-cornering. Hold brake to initiate slide, then steer to control the angle. Score points based on drift duration and angle.

What works is the drift physics. The slide feels controllable rather than floaty. You can extend a drift through linked corners with proper throttle modulation. This rewards practice. Sega Rally and Initial D Arcade Stage both had this satisfying drift feel; Drift Line approximates it well enough.

Twenty tracks across three regions. The mountain region is the highlight, with long sweepers that let you set up extended chained drifts. The coastal region adds water hazards, and the urban region adds tight corners where the drift mechanic is less useful.

Tested mostly with gamepad. Analog stick is mandatory for serious drift play. Touch and keyboard are supported but the drift system depends on subtle analog inputs that digital controllers cannot provide.

Where the game falls short is the AI. Opponent cars exist but they drive on rails, ignoring drift mechanics entirely. They are obstacles, not competitors. A drift game should have AI that competes for drift bonuses on the same corners as you.

Where I would push back is the score-based unlock system. New tracks unlock when you score enough drift points in earlier tracks. This is fine, but the score thresholds are high enough that casual players will plateau before reaching the late content. Lower thresholds would broaden the appeal.

Three-and-a-half stars. Solid drift racer with strong physics and weak AI. Worth playing for the drift feel; the campaign progression is a hurdle for less-committed players.
