Editor review
Bubble Jump is a casual platformer where your character moves inside a floating bubble. The bubble drifts upward unless you direct it; touching obstacles pops it and ends the run. Thirty endless-mode levels.
What works is the bubble-control input. The bubble drifts upward at a fixed rate. Tap the left or right side of the screen to nudge it. The drift speed means casual players can read upcoming obstacles and adjust comfortably.
Where the format starts to feel thin is the lack of mechanical variation beyond the basic bubble-drift. Levels add more obstacles. The bubble does not gain new abilities. The mechanical depth is shallow compared to better platformers on this catalogue.
Tested over two Cross-City Line train sessions. Touch is the natural input for this format because tap-to-nudge maps directly to touch input. Mouse-click on desktop is awkward.
Where the design tries hardest is the visual presentation. The bubble itself has gentle reflective surface rendering. Obstacles are painted with simple but distinctive colour. The visual style is cohesive for a casual game.
Where I would push back is the absence of progression beyond high-score. The thirty levels are repeatable but offer no completion narrative. Adding a brief story arc or completion-based unlocks would have given casual players more motivation.
Three stars. Functional casual bubble platformer with thoughtful touch input. Worth a couple of commute sessions; limited depth for longer engagement.
