Editor review

Carpark Drift is a drift-contest game set in empty multi-storey car parks. No race against time or opponents. Just drift between concrete pillars for style points. The format is reminiscent of the JDM drift culture and aims at the same niche.

What works is the close-confines drift environment. Concrete pillars create tight cornering challenges that open tracks do not have. Pillar-proximity bonuses reward drifts that get close without contact. Contact ends the run. This creates risk-reward tension every corner.

Six car park layouts across two themed sets. Standard open-deck levels feature mostly. Underground and multi-level car parks add ceiling pressure and ramp variations.

Tested with gamepad. Touch and keyboard work but the drift mechanic depends on smooth analog steering. Gamepad is required for serious play.

Where the format falls short is the absence of progression. Six layouts is not enough. There is no campaign and no unlock system, much less any meta-progression. After an hour of play, you have seen everything.

Where I would push back is the absence of a community-layouts feature. Empty car parks are precisely the kind of environment that user-created content could expand indefinitely. Adding a layout editor would solve the content-limitation problem entirely.

Three stars. Functional drift-contest game with niche appeal. Limited content and missing community features keep it at three.
