Tap or press space to jump. Movement is automatic based on cloud placement. Collect stars on each stage for completion bonus. Missing a jump rarely ends a stage; you simply lose altitude.

Cloud Hop is a casual platformer where you hop between floating clouds collecting stars. The format is the gentlest platformer I have reviewed for AJ Arcade, aimed at casual players who want platformer mechanics without precision demands.

What works is the forgiving timing. Jump windows are generous. Cloud collision boxes extend slightly beyond the visible cloud edges. Missing a jump rarely ends the run; you just lose altitude and try again. This forgiveness keeps casual play approachable.

Thirty stages across three themed zones. Sky zone uses light clouds and gentle ascents. Storm zone has darker visuals and slightly more challenging spacing, while sunset zone introduces the most demanding cloud placements. The difficulty curve is shallow and the format does not assume platformer skill.

Tested over three Cross-City Line train sessions. Touch is the comfortable input for the format. Mobile portrait orientation suits the vertical-ascent feel. Desktop keyboard works but feels less natural.

Where the game starts to thin is the absence of advanced mechanics. Cloud Hop never introduces wall-jumps or dashes or anything beyond the basic jump. Casual players will appreciate this consistency; players who want platformer depth will find it too thin.

Where I would push back is the absence of a relaxation mode where stars do not need to be collected. The current design counts star collection toward stage scores, which adds a low-key pressure that runs against the relaxed feel. An optional zen mode (no scoring, just climbing) would fit the format.

Three stars. Functional casual platformer with forgiving timing. Worth playing as a gentle entry-level platformer; not the right pick for experienced platformer players.
