Editor review
Hexagon Clash is an io game played on a shared hexagonal-grid board. Players claim hexagons by surrounding them; territory at game-end determines winner. Up to sixteen players per match.
What works is the deterministic territory rule. Surrounding a hexagon claims it regardless of whose hex you surround. This creates push-and-pull dynamics where you can flip opponent territory by completing surround patterns.
Sixteen-player matches on shared boards. Match length around eight minutes. Standard io session pacing.
Tested over three Mumbai commute sessions. Touch with tap-to-claim is the natural input. Mouse-click also works. Keyboard is supported but feels wrong for the hex-grid format.
Where the game starts to thin is the visual presentation. The hex board is functional but bland. Hexagon colours are correct but uninspiring. The visual side lets down the package.
Where I would push back is the absence of strategic mode variants. Sixteen-player free-for-all is the only mode. Team modes, two-versus-two, or king-of-the-hill variants would have varied the format.
Three stars. Functional hex-territory io with predictable rules. Limited by visual presentation and mode variety.
