Pop Gun Pro is a basic pop-gun shooter aimed at the casual mobile audience. Tap targets as they appear. Tap fast and accurate for high score. The format is the carnival shooting gallery digitised.
What works is the responsive input. Taps register without lag. Hit detection is reliable. The basic shooter foundation is functional.
What does not work is the absence of design beyond basic-target-shooting. Targets appear randomly. Scoring is linear time-attack. There is no skill curve beyond tap-fast.
Tested over two single-stop Barcelona commute sessions and there was nothing more to discover. Touch is the natural input. Mouse-click works fine. Keyboard is supported but feels wrong for a tap-targets format.
Where the game tries hardest is the cosmetic-skin shop for the pop-gun. Twenty different gun visuals through grindable currency. None affect gameplay. The cosmetic layer is the only progression in the game.
Where I would push back is the monetisation pressure. Ad walls between rounds, plus a paid skip option and persistent shop prompts. The basic shooter underneath does not justify the monetisation pressure on top.
Two-and-a-half stars. Functional basic pop-gun shooter with heavy monetisation. Skip for either better casual shooters or better designed games on this catalogue.
