Editor review
Recoil Club is a precision shooter built around recoil-management mechanics. Each weapon kicks differently. Mastering the kick-compensation pattern is the format's main skill. Twenty maps; twelve weapons.
What works is the recoil simulation. Each weapon has a predictable but distinct recoil pattern. Recoil patterns vary by weapon. Some kick straight up. Others pull right or have horizontal sweep patterns. Learning each weapon's recoil signature and compensating in your aim is what separates skilled players from casual ones. This is Counter-Strike economic-shooter discipline at browser scale.
Twenty maps across four campaign environments. Each map favours specific weapons based on engagement distance. Pre-mission weapon selection becomes a tactical decision.
Tested over fifteen hours of practice. Mouse-and-keyboard required. The recoil-compensation precision benefits from mouse-DPI tuning. Gamepad is technically supported but the precision-aim required for recoil-compensation is hard to achieve with analog stick.
Where the design earns its high rating is the practice-range mode. A dedicated practice range lets you shoot static targets without time pressure to learn each weapon's recoil. This onboarding tool is the difference between recommending the game to casual players and recommending it only to veterans.
Where I would push back is the absence of online multiplayer. Recoil-precision shooters thrive on PvP competition. Recoil Club is single-player-only against AI, which works but caps the format's ceiling.
Four-and-a-half stars. Strong precision shooter with recoil-management depth and thoughtful practice-range mode. Recommended for shooter fans who appreciate weapon-mastery.
