Editor review

Ski Slalom is a downhill skiing arcade with slalom-gate timing. Race down a slope, weaving through gates as fast as possible. Twelve courses across three mountain themes.

What works is the carving physics. Each turn requires committing to one side. Late commits lose time; early commits over-rotate. Finding the right edge-angle and timing is the skill demand.

Twelve courses across three mountain themes. The themes are cosmetic-only (Alpine, Nordic, and Andean variants are visual reskins); gameplay does not vary between them. The course-design variety is in the gate-spacing, not the visual theme.

Tested over four Cross-City Line train sessions. Touch with tap-and-hold works fine. Mouse drag-and-hold also works. Gamepad analog stick is the most natural for the carving feel.

Where the design tries hardest is the wind-and-snow modeling. Soft snow slows you down. Wind gusts affect aerodynamics on jumps. The detail adds depth to what could be a flat run.

Where I would push back is the absence of a freestyle mode. Real skiing includes mogul-runs, halfpipes, and tricks. Ski Slalom commits hard to slalom-racing alone. A bonus freestyle mode would have varied the package.

Three stars. Functional slalom skiing arcade with reasonable carving physics. Limited by single-discipline focus.
