What works is the paddle-angle system. You set the paddle angle before each return. Steeper angles produce sharper returns; flatter angles produce loopier returns. The angle interacts with spin to determine ball trajectory.
Sixteen AI opponents across three difficulty tiers. The progression respects skill development. Each tier introduces new tactical wrinkles (spin variation, plus placement variation and smash readiness).
Tested with mouse-and-keyboard mostly. Mouse for paddle-angle and direction; keyboard for movement. The hybrid input is comfortable. Touch with on-screen controls is also workable.
Where the design earns its rating is the spin visualisation. The ball has visible spin arrows during flight that show the spin axis. Players can read spin and adjust paddle angle accordingly. This onboarding helps new players learn the format.
