Editor review
Tug Rope is a tug-of-war arcade game that fails at the only thing it tries to do. Tap rapidly to pull the rope; the team that pulls hardest wins. The implementation has broken input-recognition issues that make it unplayable.
What does not work is the input-recognition. Taps sometimes register, sometimes don't. The game's input handler appears to throttle taps unreliably. The format depends entirely on rapid taps, and broken tap-recognition is fatal to the design.
Twenty matches across three campaign themes. The campaign progression is rendered moot by the broken input system.
Tested over one match before stopping because the broken input made play impossible. Touch and mouse-click both demonstrate the same recognition issues. Keyboard works slightly better but is still unreliable.
Where the game tries hardest is the visual presentation. The character animations are smooth. The rope-physics looks correct. The visuals do not let down the package; the input system does.
Where I would push back is the entire input layer. The game needs a complete rewrite of its input handler before it can be recommended to anyone.
Two stars. The game's foundation is broken. Skip and find any other competitive arcade game.
